What is a binary puzzle?
A binary puzzle is a grid you fill with two values, usually 0 and 1. It's named after the binary number system, but you don't need to know anything about computers — just logic. You'll also find it as Takuzu or Binairo, and in apps like 0h h1.
In Fresi & Mori, 0 is a strawberry 🍓 and 1 is a blackberry 🫐. Seeing fruit instead of digits makes pairs and triples jump out at you.
Binary puzzle rules
- Every row and column is half zeros, half ones (here: strawberries and blackberries).
- Never three of the same in a row.
- Golden cells are fixed: they're your starting clues.

Frequently asked questions
How do you solve a binary puzzle?
Look for pairs (the cells at both ends get the other value), gaps between two matching cells, and rows that already have half of one value. That solves almost every board without guessing.
Do I need to be good at maths?
No. There are only two symbols and three simple rules. It's pure logic, no numbers or arithmetic.
Is it the same as Takuzu?
Yes — binary puzzle, Takuzu and Binairo are names for the same kind of puzzle.
Are binary puzzles good for kids?
Small boards (4×4 and 6×6) are a great start at any age, and the fruit makes them friendlier than zeros and ones.
